The promise of healthcare as a fundamental right, embodied in the popular demand for Medicare for All, has been silenced and buried. Why?
Join WCU to discuss how corporate power and their political puppets, including those in both political parties, chose loyalty to the status quo over the health and well-being of the working class people they claim to represent. We must also discuss the false friends and opportunists who used our anger at the for profit health system for their own ends.
This town hall is not just to go over the history of Medicare for All. It is to help us understand why our wellbeing is treated as a commodity. Because it is not enough to demand change. Only through better understanding the forces arrayed against us can we build the independent unified power of the working class needed to win healthcare for all.
We do not have all the answers. That is why we need you to bring your experiences and your ideas. How do we move forward together? How do we build the organized strength necessary to overcome corporate greed and finally establish healthcare as a right?
We look forward to answering these questions together.
